HomeSight Partnering to Rehab Foreclosed Homes

HomeSight has partnered with King County and ReHabitat Northwest, a Seattle area developer of affordable homes, to rehabilitate distressed homes in certain areas of South King County including Renton, Auburn, and Covington. These areas were hard hit by recent foreclosures, and this program will get these homes back into the hands of families with mortgage products that are long-term affordable – helping to improve these neighborhoods. Using funds made available by the U.S. Government’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), these homes will receive general rehabilitation work in addition to energy-efficiency upgrades, and will be available for sale to income qualified buyers. These income qualified homebuyers can receive up to $60,000 in purchase assistance in the form of 0% 2nd loans due upon sale or refinance.
