We will have representatives from the Black Home Initiative that will provide outreach, pre-purchase counseling, and learning for Black Homebuyers. The goal is to create an opportunity for 1,500 low-and-moderate income Black households to a own a home in South Seattle, South King County, North Pierce County within the next five years.
Washington State Housing Finance Commission representatives will provide information about The Covenant Homeownership Program, a new program and funding source that helps people who have been impacted by discrimination to become homeowners.
There will be representative from Habitat for Humanity who will offer homebuyer education classes and provide information about their debt remediation program that relieves debt up to $50K for qualifying individuals.
HUD’s Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) will also be onsite to share information housing discrimination and inform you about your rights, including fair housing complaints and their in conducting compliance reviews.
